Josh Harding
Josh Harding, the 28 year old goalie for the Minnesota Wild, just released he had MS this year (2012). Despite the diagnosis, he just recently signed to be the goalie for the Wild, for three more years. In an interview with CBSports, Harding said [about the disease] ""I don't look at this like I've got to take a new path, this is a little bump in the road. I've had lots in life.... I had a couple days where I felt bad for myself, but no more," said Harding, who plans on continuing his career. There's things in life that happen. Sometimes you can't explain it. You deal with it."
Montel Williams
Montel, host of the "Montel Williams Show" for seventeen years, was diagnosed with MS back in 1999. shortly after diagnosis, Montel created the non-profit Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, and has been an avid spokes model for the Foundation. Recently, Williams has begun to snowboard, and says the coordination and the awareness of his feet, help him to retain his coordination and balance.
Ann Romney
The wife of Republican nominee Mitt Romney, Ann was diagnosed with MS in 1998. MS affected her greatly, and at times she lost balance and was bound to a wheel chair. With treatment, she improved, but still has "flares ups" from time to time, which can be painful and decrease her mobility.
Michelle Obama's Father
Michelle's father Fraser, was diagnosed with MS in the prime of his live, and stuggled painfully with MS until his death in 1991. Michelle said in an interview that "I never knew him as able to walk, but he was still a great provider and avid family man."
